The Main Course opened at “The Top of The Hill Shops” in Fish Creek, Wisconsin in May of 1987 (the genesis was in 1979, same town, different address). While the mix of merchandise has changed a bit over the years, our emphasis on providing a variety of cooking tools has remained constant. The gardener needs a spade, a carpenter wants the perfect block plane, and a cook always has their favorite spoon. Tools allow the cook to work more efficiently, and better enjoy the experience. I chose the name ToysForCooks.com because I have always referred to my shop as a “toy store for cooks”. You don't need to be a great cook to enjoy the wonderful tools available for your kitchen! It’s fun for customers to look through the selection of equipment and gadgets, much as it is fun to wander around in a hardware store. If they don't know what something is used for, they are encouraged to ask!
